Find your registration or evidence route
Choose the profession you are applying to register in and the destination regulator. The order in a numeric profile below is Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. A flexible rule or required total takes priority over a simplified four-number comparison. Each linked page explains the evidence scope as well as the scores.

Read the scope before comparing numbers
In Canada, provincial nursing and medical regulators make their own decisions. Our nursing page distinguishes Ontario CNO’s rule from the CNRC recommendation; the medical page explains Ontario CPSO’s implementation of the FMRAC model. The US Nursing page describes VisaScreen, which is separate from a state nursing licence. UAE PQR clauses are conditional English-evidence provisions and do not specify four individual score thresholds.
For Ireland, NMBI permits C+ in any one skill with B in the other three, all in one sitting. UK HCPC instead publishes totals of 1400 for five listed professions and 1800 for speech and language therapy, with individual floors. The pages retain these differences rather than treating every score as four B grades. Ahpra’s April 2026 update is dated by the sitting, so check older results against the transition rules.
Turn a rule into a study plan
Take a fresh free full Listening test and use the score calculator to compare its estimated range with your component target. Check all four skills: a high Listening result does not repair a Writing result below the line. The profession pages connect each rule to original role-play cards and letter tasks. For a weak spelling score, use the profession vocabulary list and dictation drills.
Before booking, confirm the delivery mode with the authority receiving your results. Paper, computer and OET@Home are delivery choices with different recognition conditions. Before submitting an application, check certificate age and the accepted dates on the results and validity guide. Explore practice plans after trying the free materials.
Questions candidates ask
Is there one OET passing score for all countries?
No. Each regulator or programme sets its own score profile, evidence period and accepted formats. A score for registration can differ from a visa requirement.
Does four B grades always meet the requirement?
No. For example, Ahpra’s current Reading and Speaking requirements are 360, although grade B begins at 350. HCPC also specifies totals and component floors.
Why is my country or profession missing?
We publish a combination only when a regulator record or official page verifies the rule. Missing combinations are not evidence that OET is rejected; ask the body responsible for your application.
