Estimate your score
Your marks for each criterion, as a teacher or our marker gave them.
30 of 42 points. On the edge of 350 (B): one or two marks either way changes the grade.
An estimate from our own conversion (the same table and caps our markers use), anchored on OET's published guidance. It is not an OET result. Ranges run downwards: if you are near a line, plan for the lower number. Writing and Speaking: a clearly weak criterion (for example Purpose 0–1 or Content 0–3) caps the estimate at 340, as our markers do.
Listening and Reading: marks out of 42 to estimated score
About 30/42 is where our estimate reaches 350 (grade B). Below about 24/42, small changes in the test's difficulty matter less than your accuracy, so the table stops at 10.

How Writing and Speaking points become a score
Writing: Purpose 0–3 plus five criteria 0–7, so 38 points. A B profile is usually Purpose 2 and 5 on the rest, which is 27 of 38. Speaking: four linguistic criteria 0–6 and five clinical communication criteria 0–3, so 39 points. A B profile is usually 5 on each linguistic criterion and 2 on each clinical one, 30 of 39.

Questions candidates ask
How many correct answers do I need for a B in OET?
OET's guidance is about 30 out of 42 in Listening or Reading for 350 (grade B). It is not a fixed cut-off: the conversion moves a little with each test's difficulty, so treat 30 as a target and 32 or more as a safer margin.
Does OET publish a raw score conversion table?
No. OET reports each sub-test on a 0–500 scale in steps of 10 and adjusts the conversion for every test version. Any table online, including ours, is an estimate based on OET's published anchor of about 30/42 for a B.
How are OET Writing and Speaking scored?
Writing has six criteria: Purpose is scored 0–3 and the other five 0–7. Speaking has four linguistic criteria scored 0–6 and five clinical communication criteria scored 0–3. Two or more assessors rate you and the totals are converted to the 0–500 scale.
What OET score equals IELTS 7?
OET grade B (350–440) is commonly described as roughly IELTS 7.0–7.5 and C+ as about 6.5. That comparison comes from test providers' marketing tables, not from OET's handbook, so check what your regulator accepts for each test.
Is there an overall OET score?
No. OET reports four separate sub-test scores and grades. Regulators set a minimum for each sub-test, so one low sub-test can't be balanced by a high one.
