Privacy notice
What OETAce collects, why, and who processes it. Last updated 21 October 2026.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you sign in, so we can send sign-in codes and keep your results and pass.
- Your practice work: Listening and Reading answers, the letters you write, and the text of your Speaking role-plays, so we can mark them and show your history.
- Speaking audio: each turn you record is sent for transcription and is not kept after it has been turned into text.
- Your profile: profession, target regulator and exam date, if you add them.
- Payment records: which pass you bought and when. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.
- Basic technical data such as IP address and country, used to prevent abuse and to show prices in your currency.
Cookies and storage on your device
We set two cookies: ro_s keeps you signed in (60 days), and ro_a is a random ID that lets us count your free Listening and Reading tests before you sign in. Your practice history, drafts and preparation notes are also stored in your browser so nothing is lost if you lose connection. You can clear these at any time from your account page. We don't use advertising cookies.

These providers may process data outside your country. We send them only what's needed for the task.
How long we keep it
Your account data and marked attempts are kept while your account is active. Ask us to delete your account and we'll remove your email, attempts and profile, except payment records we must keep by law.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or complain to your local privacy regulator. In Australia that's the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
