When are OET results released?

The result clock for computer testing starts after completion of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. OET’s support page describes the following indicative timings. They are not guaranteed deadlines: results can take longer for quality assurance or security checks, and public holidays or regional factors can affect release. OET sends an email when results are available, so check the spam folder as well as the inbox.

Read the Statement of Results

The Statement of Results is issued through your OET account. The handbook lists a numerical result and letter grade for each sub-test, alongside identity and test details. The numerical scale is 0–500 in ten-point increments. Read each component against the receiving regulator’s rule; a grade B label by itself can hide the difference between a 350 result and a required 360.

Keep the official statement separate from a practice estimate. An OETAce Listening or Reading range helps direct revision, but cannot be submitted as English evidence. Our score calculator explains the estimated conversion, and the country and profession rules explain where individual scores, totals or flexible profiles apply.

Requesting an OET re-mark

The 2026 handbook says you can request a re-mark of one or more sub-tests if you believe the result does not reflect your performance. Submit the request within 72 hours of results release. Fees apply; if the grade changes, the fee is refunded. Use the current OET Remarking Policy and the instructions associated with your result for the request and current charge. We omit an unverified turnaround promise and do not assume a successful re-mark.

Record the release time and deadline before deciding. Look at the gap to your regulator’s threshold and review what happened during the test. A complaint about a test-day problem and a request to reconsider a mark are different processes. The handbook separately describes complaints and appeals; follow the applicable policy rather than expecting a general support message to stand in for a formal request.

How long are OET results valid?

There is no global OET validity period. The receiving organisation sets the acceptable age of the result, the minimum scores and the profession version. A rule about a single sitting or the window for combining sittings is another condition, not a replacement for certificate-age requirements. Application routes can also set a specific earliest accepted test date.

For example, the ECFMG Pathways rule in our US doctors guide identifies eligible sitting dates; the Canada nursing guide distinguishes Ontario’s rule from the CNRC recommendation. Consult the linked official authority for your route before reusing an older result. Keep both the sitting date and intended submission date in your application checklist.

Sharing and verification

OET allows you to give recognising organisations access to results through your account and to remove access later. Its support instructions differ by delivery mode and receiving organisation. Search for the organisation’s full name and follow the current account instructions. Downloading a statement for your records does not establish that a council has received the verification it requires.

Use the official support page for special sharing instructions, including the extra HCPC verification step. If an application deadline is near, allow time after score release for that process. While waiting, work on an identified weakness with medical spelling practice, a free full Listening test or profession-specific letter tasks. See practice plans for further preparation.
