Questions candidates ask
Why is the visa Writing line higher than AHPRA's?
They are separate systems. AHPRA registration needs Writing 350 (from 23 April 2026). Home Affairs' Proficient English needs 380 and Superior needs 420. A result that registers you may still give no English points.
How many points does OET give in the points test?
Proficient English is worth 10 points and Superior English 20 points; Competent English gives none. The points figures here come from a migration agent's summary, so confirm them on Home Affairs' points test page.
Is Superior English realistic with OET?
It's hard. Writing 420 is near the top of grade B, and in OET's 2025 statistics almost no candidates reached grade A (450+) in Writing. Most candidates aim for Proficient first.
Can I combine two OET sittings for a visa?
We couldn't confirm this for Home Affairs. Check the English requirements for your visa subclass before you plan around it.
