Why spelling matters in OET Listening Part A
In Part A you complete a clinician's notes with the words you hear, and a misspelt answer usually scores nothing. The words that cost most marks are everyday clinical ones: diarrhoea, haemorrhage, oesophagus, paracetamol, physiotherapist.
Each round plays a word or short phrase in a clear clinical voice. You type it, and we show exactly which letters slipped. British and American spellings are both accepted, as in the real test.
- Hear the word, type it, check it
- See the exact letters you got wrong
- Repeat the words you missed until they stick
