Numbers, dates and doses

Thirteen or thirty? 2.5 mg or 25 mg? Train your ear for the figures that cost marks.

Trains: Listening Part A numbers. Learn the method first: the lesson. Drills are practice only and never count towards your readiness estimate.

Numbers, doses and dates in OET Listening

Part A notes are full of figures: ages, doses, blood pressure, dates and durations. Fifteen and fifty, 2.5 mg and 25 mg, the 13th and the 30th sound close at speed, and a wrong figure is a wrong answer.

Each item plays a short clinical sentence. You write the figure with its unit, and the feedback shows the pairs you tend to confuse. Write numbers the way the notes expect: digits for doses and measurements, and the unit exactly as you hear it.

  • Doses with units (mg, mL, mmol/L)
  • Ages, dates and times
  • Teens versus tens: 13/30, 15/50, 19/90
